I originally developed and used this mock Senate hearing during the 2006-2007 school year. At the time, I was teaching 9th grade United States History and I had a class size of about 25 students. I have updated and added to the materials in 2010. This activity could easily be adapted to fit any 9-12 Social Studies classroom.
While it has taken a great deal of time to research and write, I am putting this mock Senate hearing online FREE for all to use. My only request is: If you use it, let me know.
